Leafony lets you combine small circuit boards called leaves to build devices that measure temperature and humidity, send readings wirelessly, or provide text and sound output. Choose the sensor, communication and display leaves you need, combine them with an MCU (microcontroller) and power source, and run a program to control them.

This open innovation platform supports compact, low-power electronics for prototyping IT services and IoT edge nodes. The Trillion-Node Engine Project1 developed the platform; designs with finalized specifications are called Leafony. LEAFONY SYSTEMS handled manufacturing and sales of the platform.

The Trillion-Node Study Group, founded by University of Tokyo Professor Emeritus Sakurai, provides a forum for discussing a future with many IoT/CPS2 nodes. It uses Leafony as a basis for practical exploration and connects companies with application needs and enabling technologies.

The name combines “Leaf” and “Symphony”: individual leaves work together to create something new.
